Reply with quote | #1 | http://www.apa-wpa.com/entryforms.htm An ALL RAW powerlifting event will be held in Sacramento on Feb. 28, 2009. Check out the link below, remember with power lifting you can just can just compete in one or two events or participate in all of them. They will also have a competition for the strength sports. Check it out, it would be nice to have some company at this event.

Reply with quote | #3 | How many people from Myles Ahead are competing in all or part of the power lifting event on February 28th? It is going to be nice to be part of a team! If anyone else is interested you can sign up on the day of the event.
I am looking forward to it! We are still ten days out, but I am already having trouble sleeping at night. I feel like a kid getting ready for a vacation at Disneyland, a pretty good feeling at nearly 46 years old!
These last few workouts before an event are tough, we have been training hard the past few months and now things ease up and it feels like I am not working hard enough. Hopefully, I can store up this excess energy and be ready to go on the 28th!!
I wish all of the lifters the best of luck! Be prepared for a long day...

Wow! What a day, we started lifting around 11:00am and the awards were handed out around 10:00pm. Myles Ahead was well represented by lifters and supporters. Even I could hear the support loud and clear! Thank you! Chad, Chris, Scott, Sean and Paul did great; it is not easy staying motivated when there is so much downtime between lifts. I hope that more of you will consider participating in a power lifting event in the future. My guess is that the next one in Sacramento will be held in September. A special thanks to Paul M. for the chocolate chip cookie, prior to the overhead press and curl I was tired and dehydrated (I tend to sweat a lot! ). Paul offered me the last cookie and a few minutes later I was ready to go and finished the night strong. Of course, I have to thank Freddie! He was running around managing lifters all day, I do not know how he does it. We are fortunate to have two great coaches such as Freddie and Niki! I now plan to spend the next several months training for the Redwood Empire Championships on July 11th, see you there! Stay Strong, Joe __________________ Set goals, not limits! |
